This superlative compilation is of the famous early works of Sir Malcolm Arnold, one of Britain's finest modern classical and film composers who passed away in September 2006. This compilation includes the original versions of the theme from 'The Belles of St. Trinians' and the much loved signature tune to television's 'What the Papers Say.' This CD covers Arnold's halcyon years with selections from other hit films such as 'Hobson's Choice', 'The Sound Barrier' 'The Captain's Paradise' and 'Trapeze'. Malcolm Arnold is an important figure in 20th century music. He was a major British artist who was as important as Paul McCartney or John Barry.
